Group Settings

Group Settings is where you configure your Group’s identity, Unit Council, and feature toggles. Go to Group > Group Settings to access it.

Identity

• Group name — editable inline (minimum 2 characters)
• Region — select your state or territory (ACT, NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, WA, TAS, NT)
• Established — free-text field for the year your Group was established
• Meeting venue — the default venue used for standing consent scope

Sections

A read-only summary showing each active section (Joeys through Rovers) with:

• Age range
• Member count
• Meeting day (derived from your term program)

Only sections with at least one member are displayed.

Unit Council

Unit Council is the opt-in, youth-led approval body for award ratification.

• Master toggle: “Enable Unit Council ratification” — disabled until at least one Patrol Leader or Assistant Patrol Leader exists in any section.
• Per-award-type toggles: enable council ratification independently for OAS, SIA, and Milestones.
• Quorum override: set a custom quorum number (defaults to simple majority of seated PL/APLs).

Tip

Council seats are auto-derived from Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader appointments. There’s no separate council appointment process — appoint PLs and APLs in the Patrols page, and they automatically form the council.

When Unit Council is enabled:

• Awards go through Earned Pending Council instead of straight to Earned.
• The Complete & Award button changes to Send to Council.
• Youth council members review and vote on ratification in Council sessions.

Help

When the onboarding tutorial is enabled:

• A Replay button lets you restart the welcome tour — useful when onboarding a new co-leader or revisiting the app flow.

Danger zone (Owner only)

• Archive group — keeps records but blocks new writes
• Delete group — 30-day soft-delete window

Caution

Archive and delete are available to the Group Owner only.
