Patrols
Every section in Tussock — from Joeys through Rovers — has patrols. Patrols provide structure for your section and feed into the Unit Council system.
Managing patrols
Section titled “Managing patrols”Go to Group > Patrols to manage your patrol structure.
- Section filter — a segmented control lets you switch between Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, and Rovers.
- Balance card — a dark summary card shows patrol count, average size, unassigned Scout count, and per-patrol size bars. An imbalance warning appears when patrol sizes are uneven.
Creating a patrol
Section titled “Creating a patrol”Tap Form patrol to create a new one. Each patrol has a name and an emblem icon.
Patrol roles
Section titled “Patrol roles”Each patrol can have:
- Patrol Leader (PL) — one per patrol
- Assistant Patrol Leader (APL) — one per patrol
- Patrol Members (PM) — everyone else
Appoint PLs and APLs from the patrol detail view. These appointments are important because PLs and APLs automatically form the Unit Council when it’s enabled for your Group.
Unassigned Scouts
Section titled “Unassigned Scouts”Scouts not yet placed in a patrol appear in an Unassigned card. Tussock also has a Suggestions inbox that recommends patrol placements based on roster balance.
Patrols and events
Section titled “Patrols and events”During an Active Night, the roster grid groups Scouts by patrol — making it easy to see at a glance who’s present in each patrol. Patrol Leaders are listed first in their patrol group.
