Badge Status
The Badge Status report tracks every achievement in your Group through a three-state machine.
Badge states
Section titled “Badge states”| State | Meaning | Where it appears |
|---|---|---|
| In Progress | Some requirements done, more to go | Scout’s profile |
| Earned | All requirements met, badge not yet presented | Pending Awards list |
| Earned Pending Council | Queued for Unit Council ratification | Council inbox |
| Awarded | Badge physically handed out | Archived |
Pending Awards
Section titled “Pending Awards”The Pending Awards view is your checklist for badge ceremonies. It shows every Scout with achievements in the Earned state — ready to hand out.
Badge presentation flow
Section titled “Badge presentation flow”- Go to Reports > Pending Awards.
- Review the list of Scouts and their earned badges.
- At your next parade or closing ceremony, physically hand out the badges.
- Tap Mark as Awarded next to each Scout’s name.
- The badge state updates to Awarded and disappears from the pending list.
How badges reach Earned
Section titled “How badges reach Earned”Badges move to Earned automatically when:
- OAS stage: all requirements in that stage are marked complete (via events or individual checkboxes)
- SIA: the leader taps Authorize Award on a completed project
- Milestone: PAL credit targets are met for the current Milestone level
Unit Council flow
Section titled “Unit Council flow”When Unit Council ratification is enabled for your Group, earned badges go through an extra state:
- Complete & Award writes badges as Earned Pending Council.
- The Unit Council (Patrol Leaders and Assistant Patrol Leaders) reviews and votes on ratification in a Council session.
- On ratification, the badge moves to Earned (ready for the leader to mark as Awarded).
