Parents & Families

Tussock gives parents their own view of their child’s Scouting journey. Leaders add parents during the Add Scout flow; parents receive a magic link to claim their profile and access the Parent Portal.

For leaders

• Adding parents: during the Add Scout wizard (Step 2), enter the parent’s name, email, and optionally phone and relationship (Mum, Dad, Guardian, Carer).
• Inviting parents later: go to Group > Invite parents to send magic links to parents of Scouts already on the roster.
• Consent management: when you publish an event with activity flags (off-site, overnight, water, adventurous, transport), consent requests are dispatched to parents automatically.

For parents

Parents sign in via the magic link and see:

• A dashboard with actionable items (consent requests, medical reviews) and their children’s progress.
• A calendar of upcoming events with consent status per event.
• A children page to manage medical records and see progress.

Note

Consent and medical features are behind feature flags and may not be active for your Group. When they’re off, parents still see the dashboard and calendar — just without consent or medical prompts.
