Parent Portal

The Parent Portal is the parent-facing view of Tussock. Parents access it at the same URL (tussock.group) — the app shows the right perspective based on their role.

  1. A leader adds a parent’s details during the Add Scout wizard (or later via Group > Invite parents).
  2. Tussock sends the parent a magic link via email.
  3. The parent taps the link, authenticates, and claims their profile.

That’s it — no separate registration. The magic link handles sign-up and sign-in in one step.

The parent dashboard shows:

  • Child selector — horizontal pills at the top to switch between children (if they have more than one Scout).
  • Action items — a hero card showing what needs attention this week: consent requests, medical reviews, pending confirmations.
  • Progress summary — each child’s medical status and consent status at a glance.

A chronological view of upcoming events, grouped by week:

  • Event title, date, time, location, section, and group name
  • Consent status badge per event: “Give consent” (tappable), “Consented”, “Partial consent”, “Declined”, or “No consent required”

A list of all linked children with:

  • Medical status chip (OK or review due)
  • Consent pending count
  • Tap a child to open their medical form

The inbox at the top of the dashboard aggregates all actionable items across children and Groups:

  • “Confirm [name] is your child” — when a leader linked the parent, the parent can confirm or dispute within 7 days
  • “Sign standing consent” — annual consent not yet signed
  • “Add medical info” — no medical record on file
  • “Consent for [event]” — per-event consent pending
  • “Re-attest medical for [event]” — medical record needs re-confirmation
